A mother allegedly sold her 18-year-old daughter as a sex tool to different men in order to take care of some family needs which included buying a phone, gas paying house rent and so on.
The 34-year-old woman, Melissa Bennet, from Norfolk, Virginia Beach of the United States, was consequently arrested and charged with pandering.
In an affidavit sworn by Bennet, she disclosed how she persuaded and harassed her teenage daughter to commit sexual acts with strangers in exchange for money.
The daughter had told investigators that her mother took her to the location where she was to have sex with men for money.
According to Metro UK, detectives revealed that they saw text messages between the mother and daughter, showing Bennett instructing her daughter to meet with several men because they needed money.
It was further learnt that the Bennet usually accompanied her daughter to the location where she was to have sex to protect her from the men and then collected the money from her as soon as she was paid for rendering sexual services.
According to the investigators, the woman confessed to committing the crime because she needed money for her family upkeep.
The unnamed daughter said she had enough of the prostitution after one month and decided to file a report against her mother who allegedly started prostituting her just after her 18th birthday.
