Security operatives have allegedly arrested a parrot for swearing at an 85-year-old woman each time she passed the bird.
The complainant, Janabai Sakharkar, of Maharashtra, India, claimed the parrot known as Hariyal, usually abused her whenever she passed by the house of her stepson Suresh.
The incident was so hilarious, India Times reports, but this did not stop the police from treating the incident with the seriousness it clearly merited.
Janabai and Suresh were apparently locked in a dispute over property, although the police suggested that the parrot possibly copied abuses from Suresh each time he abused Sakharkar.
The parrot kept mum at the police station, but officers deemed his arrest inevitable before they passed him over to the Forest Department for rehabilitation.
