Yoruba socio-cultural group, Afenifere, on Tuesday, July 7, 2015 condemned the decision of the Federal Government to relocate detained  Boko Haram suspects to the Ekwulobia Prison in Anambra State, likening the move to the spreading of the deadly Ebola Virus, which ought to be quarantined.

Speaking in Lagos at a public forum organised to honour the late MKO Abiola, the National Publicity Secretary of the group, Yinka Odumakin said the yoruba people are against the move.

Odumakin also called for the restoration of military checkpoints around the country in the wake of renewd terror attacks by the insurgent group.

He said: “Moving Boko Haram Prisoners is like spreading the Ebola Virus which is supposed to be confined.

“We, the South-West people, kick against moving the prisoners to South-East Nigeria . We should contain Boko Haram and not spread it.

“Also, one of the issues that have increased the incessant bombings in the North is the removal of military checkpoints. I will use this opportunity to plead with the federal government to restore military checkpoints where insurgency is at its peak.”
