National Assembly Election: ‘Tinubu is 5 minutes from his political sunset’ – Bode George

Must read

Former Deputy National Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Bode George, has taken a jab at former governor of Lagos State and National Leader of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Asiwaju Bola Tinubu over the outcome of the National Assembly elections.

Tinubu is widely believed to have listed Femi Gbajabiamila and Senator Ahmed for the positions of Speaker of the House of Representatives and Senate President respectively, a decision accepted by the APC party leadership and imposed on several APC lawmakers.

While congratulating Bukola Saraki and Yakubu Dagoro for emerging victorious in the assembly election, Bode George, who spoke from London, UK said: “Since 1999, the PDP is known for playing national politics and we will continue to do just that, whether we are in the opposition or not.  “The APC is a congregation of strange bed fellows and Tinubu erroneously still thinks that his party will continue to play the type of politics of imposition he is playing in Lagos.

“As the ruling party at the national level, the game has changed. Tinubu is yet to wake from his politics of imposition. He should quickly realise now that it is five minutes to his political sunset.

“What happened in Abuja today (yesterday) is a welcome development for national and rational politics. Tinubu and his fellow dreamers have zoned themselves to total irrelevance. This is a sign of more things to come.”
