Nigeria Immigration Service Deports 135 Nigeriens

The on-going war on insurgency in Nigeria has led to the deportation of 135 Nigerien by the Jigawa State command of the Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS).

The state controller, Malam Isa Jere  made this known to journalist on Thursday, June 5, 2014, stating that part of their efforts to get rid of aliens in the country, the service have arrested 77 in Gumel zone and 58 in Hadejia area of the state.

Mr Jere said that the command has repatriated 350 Nigeriens in the last two months who were illegal residing in the state, the aliens he claimed came into the country through Maigatari border in Jigawa and Babban Mutum border in Katsina State.

He advised any foreigner who intends to reside in the country to acquire the required  ECOWAS documentation while coming in through recognized entry points for proper screening.
