Over 50 Houses Razed As Boko Haram Invades Adamawa Villages

Nigerian army yesterday said no casualties was recorded when Boko Haram insurgents launched attack on three villages in Madagali local government area of Adamawa State.

Making the disclosure via a telephone interview, the acting Brigade Commander of the 23rd Armoured Brigade Col A. P. A. Popoola noted that even though he was not directly in charge of Madagali, the commander of the 28 Task Force Mubi who was in charge of the area told him that no casualty was recorded following the attacks.

Fleeing Boko Haram insurgents had reportedly attacked three villages destroying over 50 houses in Madagali local government area of Adamawa State over the weekend.

Reports from the area indicated that the fleeing insurgents who were hiding around the bushes and mountains in the area located few Kilometres away from Borno State border launched attack on Sabon Gari, Kafin Hausa and Dutse Biyu villages where they destroyed residential buildings.

Residents of the area said that as soon as they sighted the insurgents heading towards their villages, they flee for safety as a result of which the insurgents could not maim or kill anyone.

“And according to my colleague in charge there, no life was lost in the attack even though he promised to come over to the state capital Yola to address the press on the matter on Tuesday (tomorrow),” Popoola maintained
