The Kano State Command has declared a former Kano State Commissioner for Rural and Community Development, Alhaji Illayasu Kwankwaso wanted for sponsoring political thugs to destroy electoral materials in Kauran Mata Ward in Madobi Local Government Area in the election held on Saturday, April 11, 2015.
While parading suspected political thugs at the Police Command headquarters in Bompai on Tuesday, April 14, 2015, the Kano State Commissioner of Police, Ibrahim Idris said Kwakwanso scaled the fence when police officers arrived at his residence to apprehend him.
He said: “Also, the suspects indicted one Musa Illyasu Kwankwaso as their sponsor. Detectives from SCID stormed his house but unfortunately, he jumped over the fence, abandoned his regalia (Jumper) and escaped into the bush. The man-hunt for him and four other suspects still at large is in progress.”
