LONDON, United Kingdom — Prince Harry and Meghan, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex, are expected to stay in royal accommodation during a planned visit to the United Kingdom next month.
The Prince Harry and Meghan UK visit is expected to include Prince Archie, 7, and Princess Lilibet, 5, according to people familiar with the plans.
The trip would bring the couple and their children back to Britain together for the first time since 2022.
The family’s last joint visit to Britain was for Queen Elizabeth II’s Platinum Jubilee celebrations.
The Sussexes had previously been offered accommodation on the royal estate for possible visits, according to a palace source cited in the reporting notes.
This would be the first time the family has accepted that offer.
The family is expected to divide its stay between royal accommodation and private lodging.
Details of their private schedule have not been disclosed.
Prince Harry and Meghan UK Visit Raises Questions Over Royal Ties
The planned visit, reported on Saturday, June 27, 2026, comes more than six years after Harry and Meghan stepped back from royal duties and moved to California.
Their departure from royal life in 2020 opened a long period of tension with the royal family.
The couple later said in interviews and in Harry’s memoir that press intrusion, difficult family relationships and racism within British institutions influenced their decision to leave Britain.
Harry has returned to the United Kingdom several times since then.
Meghan joined him for Queen Elizabeth II’s funeral in 2022, while Harry travelled alone for the coronation of King Charles III in 2023.
Harry also met Charles privately at Clarence House in September last year, their first face-to-face meeting in 19 months. The meeting took place as the King was receiving treatment for cancer.
The relationship between Harry and his brother, Prince William, is still understood to be strained.
Security Remains a Sensitive Issue
The visit also brings renewed attention to the Sussexes’ security arrangements in Britain.
After Harry stepped back from royal duties, the British government removed his taxpayer-funded security arrangements.
Harry later told the BBC that he could not see himself bringing his wife and children back to Britain under the circumstances at that time.
Security plans for the upcoming visit have not been made public.
While staying in royal accommodation, however, the family would be covered by existing protective arrangements attached to the residence.
Invictus Games Events Planned
Harry’s public schedule is expected to centre on the one-year countdown to the 2027 Invictus Games in Birmingham, the sporting competition for wounded, injured and sick service personnel and veterans that he founded more than a decade ago.
The visit is expected to begin with Invictus-related events in London, where Meghan is also expected to join him.
Harry is also expected to attend engagements in the Midlands linked to causes he supports. Archie and Lilibet are not expected to appear at public events, and details of the family’s private time are being withheld.
