Principal, Teachers Assault Student For Retaliating Slap From Head Girl [GRAPHIC PHOTOS]

A 14-year-old female student of Eva Adelaja Girls School, Lagos State was reportedly battered by some academic staff of her school in their effort to punish her for retaliating a slap she received from the school’s head girl.

The victim Ogechi Blessing, a Senior Secondary 2 student of the school located at Bariga area of the state was brutally assaulted by a gang of teachers alongside the principal on March 16, 2016.

A source privy to the matter disclosed that trouble started when the victim got a slap from the head girl and returned a slap in retaliation.

The head girl subsequently reported Blessing to the teachers who then reportedly subjected her to severe punishment which included stripping her and flogging her bare buttocks.

The source said: “She was made to strip off her shorts and canned on her bare buttocks and slapped severely by the principal and five other teachers because she returned the slap on her face from the head girl who slapped her first.

“The head girl then reported to the school authorities who in turn physically battered her and then made her cut grass for 4 hours under the sun.

According to the source, the school’s staff who meted out the punishment included; Mrs. C. O Coker, the Principal, who slapped her severally ; Mr. Bello, the Mathematics teacher, Mr. Bakare, the Economics teacher, Mrs. Tejumaye, the English Teacher; Mrs Omoge the Civic Education teacher and Mrs. Balogun the school’s Vice Principal.

The victim is said to be currently nursing the injuries she sustained from the alleged brutality and had missed out on writing her exams as a result.

The Trent gathered that the Principal has refused to honor the request from the police officers at Bariga Police Station.

Reports also alleged that the principal rather brought soldiers to intimidate the officers investigating the case.

The state Police Public Relation Officer is yet to issue a statement concerning the alleged assault as at the time of filing the report.
