Just thinking aloud… why can’t the American government, that was swift at identifying and reporting to the speaker of the House of Representatives, the three Nigerian lawmakers suspected to have been involved in a case of attempted rape and solicitation for prostitutes, save us from the quagmire of “two Aisha Buharis” in the William Jefferson bribery scandal?
US department of justice’s website where court documents mentioning Aisha Buhari one who aided the transfer of bribers to Jefferson, an American lawmaker who was convicted of corruption in 2009 and is currently serving his sentence in a US prison. Exhibits tendered in convicting Mr. Jefferson showed that Aisha Buhari was mentioned as transferring $170,000 to the American politician using a firm as proxy.
We know too well that the true identity of this criminal woman is not hidden from the American authorities and had expected that in the spirit of the current fight against corruption in Nigeria, they’ll help us demystify this corrupt and mysterious woman called Aisha Buhari.
It’s not strange to find American government collaborating with criminals all over the world but one thing certain about this scandal is that though the American government has forced itself not to divulge information on the true identity of the criminal Aisha because Buhari is an ally of President Barack Obama, the US will never implicate itself by saying it was not president Buhari’s wife that committed the crime.
The American government may continue to maintain its undignified silence and that’s the much help it can offer to Mr Buhari, its criminal ally, in this present circumstance knowing fully well that soon Nigerians will sweep everything under the carpet. It now still leaves President Buhari’s wife as the prime suspect.
This is the implication of American government’s criminal silence on this matter, especially as Buhari has made his purported fight against corruption in Nigeria a global affair. This undignified silence carries with it a very serious moral burden and Aisha, president Buhari’s wife will remain a prime suspect until proven otherwise beyond all reasonable doubts.
Noted, William Jefferson bribe scandal is a high profile crime and it isn’t a crime for small flies. Having studied General Muhammadu Buhari closely and came to a very strong conviction concerning his modus operandi in financial crime, it’s very doubtful if this crime could have been committed by anybody other than his wife.
Buhari in all his involvements in misappropriation of public funds cleverly avoids personally touching public funds and would rather use fronts which are usually very close and trusted family members, friends and associates. This is buttressed by Buhari’s many blatant lies about himself and family including the certificate forgery case hanging on his neck leaves any sane and honest person with a strong impression that Buhari is a fraudster.
It’s therefore, highly improbable for Aisha Buhari having been entangled with and raised up by Buhari from a very tender age not to have been inducted into his pernicious subterfuge; sleazy and undignified life of deceit, hypocrisy, dishonesty, craftiness and criminality. This leaves Aisha Buhari standing stark naked in spite of her spirited effort to cover herself with lies.
If Buhari could commit perjury when he knew he has never sat for the secondary school leaving certificate exam leading to what is popularly called a WAEC certificate, therefore has no WAEC certificate and has shamelessly gone further to hire a load of senior lawyers to defend his criminality while parading himself as “Mr Integrity”, what stops Aisha from turning an ocean to a desert and causing the sun to stand still for as long as she wishes all in attempts to falsely prove that she is not the wanted criminal?
Like her husband who instead of presenting his certificate has resorted to intimidation and hiring of thousands of lawyers, Aisha has resorted to intimidation and haulage of insults while receiving help from her criminally minded husband and fraudsters in the government to clone another Aisha Buhari that must bear the burden of her crime rather than travel to America to get herself cleared.
With this duo in Aso Rock, Nigeria is in serious trouble. No wonder David Cameron speaking from a very privileged insight, declared Nigeria as a fantastically corrupt country.
We challenge the American government to extricate itself from the web of conspiracy woven to shield a woman, majority of Nigerians believe to be President Buhari’s wife, by immediately clarifying on the true identity of the wanted Aisha Buhari.
President Buhari has already made this fight against corruption in Nigeria a global affair and it is no longer purely a Nigerian affair. Having appealed severally for global cooperation to track down all financial criminals that have despoiled Nigeria financially, the international community must respond to this appeal by teaming up to unravel this mystery and let the real Aisha Buhari pay for her crime.
