A man known as Jehovah Wanyonyi, who claimed to be the living God, has died of malaria in Chemororoch village in Uasin Gishu County, Western Kenya.
A local leader has confirmed his death even though his flock are praying ceaselessly for his resurrection.
Until his death on Saturday, July 18, 2015 Jehovah Wanyonyi, lived near Mount Elgon which he considered to be Mount Zion and claimed to be the Almighty God and deemed Jesus Christ to be his son.
Jehovah Wanyonyi who had 70 wives, 95 children and several grandchildren, died at the age of 91 on his way to Cherangany Nursing Home in Kitale town, Kipsomba chief Daniel Busienei told The Standard.
He also claimed to be able to cure AIDS and had a few months ago, stated that he would punish Kenya if the country did not give him three billion Kenyan shillings ($34.6 million).
He said: “If the Kenyan Government does not give me 3 billion shillings ($3.8 million) I will bring a curse on Kenyans.”
