Senator David Mark Reaches Out To Widows, Orphans In Benue South

Former President of the senate, Senator David Mark today commenced the distribution of his annual Christmas and new year food stuffs to members of his constituents in the nine local government areas of Benue South.

Senator Mark is reaching out to his people especially widows and orphans through his wife, Helen Mark. The food stuffs being distributed across the Idoma land include bags of rice, beans, yams, groundnut oil and tomatoes.

Speaking through his wife, Helen in Agatu, Apa and Ohinmini local government areas, Senator Mark urged the citizens to pray for the nation in distress in order to overcome the challenges posed by insecurity.

Senator Mark clarified that the annual Xmas and new year felicitation with constituents which began eight  years ago was borne out of his passion and love for the less privileged devoid of politics.

He said it is a decision taken by his family to identify with his people in or out of public office, Pointing out that it was  for the same vision that he floated the David Mark scholarship foundation (DMSF) that offers scholarship to students in tertiary institutions annually.

At the moment, no fewer than 20,000 students have so far benefited from the scholarship scheme since its inception  in 2005.

In their separate responses, the spokespersons for Agatu, Apa and Ohinmini; Fodio  Achegbanu, S.O Adigba and Nicholas Ochiogila expressed appreciation to senator Mark for the annual gesture and assured him that they will always reciprocate the kindness. Other local government areas  currently receiving the food stuffs includes Ogbadibo, Okpokwu, Ado, Oju, Obi and Otukpo.
