The All Progressives Congress (APC) has declared its displeasure over the outcome of the selection of principal officers of the National Assembly (NASS) which took place on Thursday, June 26, 2015.
The party, which had in letters dated Tuesday, June 23, 2015 proffered preferred candidates for the offices but the letters were prevented form being read on both upper and lower chambers of the NASS.
Speaking on behalf of the APC was its National Secretary, Mala Buni, who said the party leadership wold meet and decide what step wold be taken next.
He said: “The All Progressives Congress (APC) has strongly condemned what transpired at both chambers of the National Assembly on Thursday, June 25th 2015 “The party stands by the list sent by the party to the President of the Senate and the Speaker of the House of Representatives. The National Caucus, BOT and NEC of the party, will meet within the next few days to discuss the evolving developments in the National Assembly.”
