#SoundOff: Lowest Hanging Fruits For Buhari To Prove His Anti-Corruption Stance

Must read

[dropcap]S[/dropcap]ometime in year 2007, in rejecting the third term bid of then President Olusegun Obasanjo, the Nigerian National Assembly displayed loads of bags of ‘Ghana-must-go’ full of money running in hundreds of millions of Naira. They told the world that Obasanjo gave them the money as bribe for his 3rd term bid.

If President Muhammadu Buhari wants Nigerians to take him serious on anti-corruption stance, he should revisit this classic case of corruption.

Sometime during the Obasanjo presidency, a high powered panel of enquiry was set up to look into the allegations of corruption in the Petroleum Trust Fund which was headed by Buhari during the Sani Abachi regime.

After the panel had done a thorough job, it presented a detailed report to the government of Obasanjo. He refused to release the report to the public. Yar’Adua also did not release the report. Same with Jonathan.

If the present Buhari administration wants Nigerians to take them serious on anti corruption and transparency , they should now release this report to the public.
