“Then the Lord said to Moses, ‘Behold, I will rain bread from heaven for you. And the people shall go out and gather a certain quota every day, that I may test them, whether they will walk in My law or not.” Exodus 16:4 NKJV
God tests His children from time to time, and it is an established truth in the Bible. God tested Abraham with his son, Isaac; Abraham passed his test, and God said, “Now I know that you fear God, since you have not withheld your son, your only son, from Me.”
God tested king Hezekiah when the ambassadors of the princes of Babylon visited him; the Bible says that God withdrew from him, in order to test him, that He might know all that was in his heart (2 Chronicles 32:31). Even Jesus tested Philip. When He saw the multitude He said to Philip, “Where shall we buy bread, that these may eat?” He said that to test Philip, because He Himself knew what He would do.
Just a little thing happens to some of us, and we do not handle it well; we do not realize that we may be tested, and so we fail our tests. Sometimes God asks us to give Him something precious, just to test us, and we rebuke the voice of God because we are unwilling to let go of those precious things. He tests our faith. He tests our love for Him. He tests our faithfulness. He tests our commitment. He tests our attitudes. He also tests our wisdom and knowledge. When you are tested, will you pass?
