Spirit And Life Devotional: You Will Be Well Paid

Must read

Matthew 20:8 MSG “When the day’s work was over, the owner of the vineyard instructed his foreman, ‘Call the workers in and pay them their wages. Start with the last hired and go on to the first.’”

Both those who work and those who don’t know the importance of a salary or wage; the unemployed know when the employed are paid and they hope for a share of that money; and even when the money isn’t sufficient the employed are happy to be compensated for their work done, and sometimes the stress of getting their jobs done. The transaction alerts workers get at the end of the month delights quite a number of them.

Well, there’s no better employer than Jesus! And no one pays better than Him. I said to myself some years ago, “It is good to work for others, better to work for yourself and best to work for God.” Hallelujah! It’s a great thing to work for the Lord. No one who serves Him with a perfect heart, faithfully and patiently, ever regrets working for Him. He pays both now and in the life to come!

1 Corinthians 15:58 says “So, my dear brothers and sisters, stand strong. Don’t let anything change you. Always give yourselves fully to the work of the Lord. You know that your work in the Lord is never wasted.” The Message Version of it says, “My dear, dear friends, stand your ground. And don’t hold back. Throw yourselves into the work of the Master, confident that nothing you do for him is a waste of time or effort.”
