President Goodluck Jonathan has broken his silence on national matters since leaving office, urging all Nigerians to support President Muhammadu Buhari in the war against Boko Haram.

Jonathan made this known via his Facebook page, Sunday, July 5, 2015. “The death of any Nigerian at the hands of terrorists is a sad reminder that the war on terror is a task for all Nigerians not just the armed forces.”

“I urge all Nigerians to continue to pray for peace in Nigeria and to support the administration of President Muhammadu Buhari as the government does its best to bring an end to these acts of terror and secure all Nigerians,” Jonathan said. “May God bless Nigeria.”

The former president who handed power over to Buhari on May 29, 2015 after a keenly contested election is presently on vacation overseas.

Since Buhari took power, 421 people have been killed by insurgents in North Eastern Nigerian. Today, a suicide bombing in a Redeemed Christian Church of God killed 15 in Pokistum, Yobe.

The death of any Nigerian at the hands of terrorists is a sad reminder that the war on terror is a task for all…
