Steven Keshi Signs 2-Year Contract To Stay On As Nigeria’s Football Coach

Must read

Steven Okechukwu Keshi has signed a two years contract on Tuesday, April 21, 2015 as the head coach of Nigeria’s national team (Super Eagles) after lengthy negotiations.

Since the expiration of his previous contract which elapsed after last year’s World Cup, the former captain of the Super Eagles had been coaching on a game-by-game deal.

Keshi’s assistant, Daniel Amokachi had taken charge of the team so as to give room for Keshi to enter into a new deal after Nigeria had failed to qualify for the African Cup of Nations.

He said a day after that triumph in South Africa when Nigeria lifted the trophy as the African Champions of the 2013 African Cup of Nations that he was resigning over problems with his bosses. He later rescinded the resignation.

Keshi has also previously complained about his wages not being paid.
