Must read

Niger Delta pro-development advocate, High Chief Ateke Tom has joined well meaning Nigerians to congratulate the Governor and people of Rivers State over the recent Supreme Court judgment that restored the mandate of Chief Nyesom Ezenwo Wike as the duly elected Governor of the State.

He made this known in a statement made available to the press on Friday, January 29, 2016 in which he commended the Justices of the Supreme Court of Nigeria for their courage in delivering justice in the matter.

High Chief Ateke Tom also called on Rivers people across party lines to unite for the development of the State and promote peace.

According to him, ”Without peace we cannot have development. So we must love ourselves and promote peace so we can have development and help our people to live better lives.”

Chief Ateke Tom called on politicians to desist from dragging his name into partisanship. He noted that his attention had been drawn to certain posts and comments in the social media purporting to have been made by him against the Nigerian military.

He denied such comments saying, “I did not make any such comment. I will advise politicians to leave me alone. They can join me to celebrate peace and work for development than to bring down my name every time. This is time for peace. Let us unite,” he said.
