Suspected Suicide Bomber Escapes Lynching In Kano

A man has escaped death after he was suspected to be a suicide bomber.

The middle aged man was about to be lynched by an angry mob when he refused to screened at the entrance of the Unguwar Uku motorpark in Kano State on Thursday, March 19, 2015.

Upon his refusal to be screened, a mob quickly descended on him thinking he was a member of the dreaded terrorist sect, Boko Haram.

But for the timely intervention of men from the police force, he would have been killed.

Confirming the incident, the Kano state police spokesperson, Magaji Musa Majiya said the man was mobbed after he attempted to run from the scene.

Majiya said, “a mob descended on him and he sustained injuries. When the suspect wanted to run away, the mob pursued him and beat him to a state of coma before the arrival security agents.”

He added that when the suspect was searched, no explosive was found on him but charms and some rifles were found on him. He is currently in an undisclosed hospital now receiving medical care.
