TRAGIC: 8 Ebola Awareness Workers Brutally Murdered In Guinea

A team of eight people, including three journalists, were killed in an attack while trying to educate villagers on the risks of the Ebola virus on Tuesday, September 16, 2014 in Wome village in a remote area in Guinea.

“The eight bodies were found in the village latrine. Three of them had their throats slit,” Damantang Albert Camara told Reuters .

Their bodies were found on Thursday.

The Ebola epidemic, in which more than 2,600 people have died, is disrupting not only public health but society in general.

A journalist who escaped and later spoke to a radio station in Guinea said residents who have always rebuffed government’s effort in containing the spread of the virus, gathered around them, first started by insulting them and then started assaulting them physically.

Eight were killed in the attack.
