Recents reports have confirmed the identity of one of the dead victims killed during the Nigeria Immigration Service recruitment exercise in Port Harcourt has been laid to rest today Tuesday, March 18, 2014 at her hometown in Akwa Ibom state.
Lucy, a single woman, who was engaged to be married soon, lost her life following a stampede at the stadium where the exercise was conducted. The Minister of Interior, Abba Moro has repeatedly insisted that he is not responsible for the loss of lives which characterised the exercise in several states across the federation. He blamed the incidents on the victims who he said were impatient.
Nigerians have been demanding for Moro’s sack by president Jonathan, but even though the president summoned Moro, as well as the Comptroller General of Immigrations, David Parradang, to Aso Rock on Monday, he has not taken any visible action against them.
