David Dogbam, the traditional ruler of Long Dorok Chiefdom in Shendam Local Government Area of Plateau State, has been abducted by gunmen.
This was disclosed to journalists on Tuesday, November 20, 2018, by former Councilor in Dorok community, Leo Densak.
He said in Jos that the gunmen numbering over ten invaded the monarch’s house Monday night at about 8pm, shooting indiscriminately and took him away to an unknown destination.
Terna Tyopev, the Police Public Relations Officer in the state, also confirmed the abduction of the monarch on Tuesday, saying that Dongbam was kidnapped at his residence in Shandam on Monday night.
Tyopev said, “On Monday, November 19, 2018, at about 10 pm, we received information that unknown gunmen stormed the residence of the Longdorock, Mr David Dongbam, a second-class chief of Dorock Kingdom of Shandam LGA and took him to unknown destination.
“On receipt of the information, we immediately formed a search-and-rescue team which is working assiduously to rescue the traditional ruler unhurt.”
