With a serious cash crunch plaguing Osun State with the government owing workers up to seven months salaries, a previous promise by the governor, Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola has been unearthed by eagle-eyed political analysts, exposing a huge disparity between what was promised to the people of the state and what is obtainable at the moment.
Governor Aregbesola, who was elected on the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC) had in November 2011 pledged never to owe workers in the state even if the state fails to receive federal allocation.
The above was contained in an article published by Thisday Newspapers with the headline “I Don’t Need Federal Allocation to Pay Workers.”
Governor Aregbesola recently came out to give reasons for his inability to pay workers salaries and pension.
