The Nigerian Broadcasting Corporation (NBC) announced Tuesday, July 14, 2015 that it has jammed the signal of illegal radio station, Radio Biafra.

After briefing President Muhammadu Buhari at Aso Rock on the activities of the Ministry of Information, Sade Yemi-Esan, permanent secretary said that not only were the signals of Radio Biafra jammed but that security agencies were in a hot chase of the sponsors of the station.

No sooner had this news made headlines, Radio Biafra took to Twitter to say that the NBC was lying to the President and to Nigerians.

The radio station said it transmits via satellite and on the Internet and that NBC could not jam its signals. “NBC lied to their master. Radio Biafra is live in BiafraLand. They cannot even ban our local station, do they even know we also transmit via satellite and online as well.”
