Northern Irish defender, Johnny Evans has joined English premier league side, West Brom for an undisclosed fee. The 27-year-old leaves Manchester United after eight years at the club.
While with United, he featured 198 times for the Red Devils. In that period, Evan won three premier league titles. He later proceeded on a double loan spell at Sunderland and has never been considered a first team player at Old Trafford under the regime of current manager, Louis Van Gaal.
Reports have it that the deal taking Evans to the Hawthorns could be worth about £6m plus £2m in add-ons. West Brom boss, Tony Pulis has spoken highly of the former Red Devil’s defender:
“This is a great signing for the club”
“Jonny brings a lot of experience and will be a big player for us – he’s a player I’ve been watching for some time and we are delighted to have him,” Pulis said
