US Open Novak Djokovic passes John Millman into the semi-finals.

Novak Djokovic went ahead to win 6-3 6-4 6-4 against the Australian world holder John Miller. Djokovic has gone to win all his 11 quarter final matches in New York.

If Djokovic will go ahead and win the Grand Slam in New York he will be ranked along Sampras and behind Nasal and Federer.

Djokovic did not participate in last year’s tournament because of an elbow injury. However, this year he has made a comeback. The 31-year old is a twice champion of the Flushing Meadows.

However, his tournament against Millman was not easy. He failed to convert break points which included 16 of 20 breakpoints. The hot environment had also been tough on both players.

The Us Open: Naomi Osaka beats Lesia Tsurenko to reach her first Grand Slam semifinal.

Japan’s own Naomi Osaka won against Ukrainian Lesia Tsurenko 6-1 6-1 in 58 minutes.

Osaka will go on ahead to play American 14th seed Madison Keys. Osaka becomes the first Japanese to reach the semi-final Grand since Kibiko Date in Wimbledon, 1996.

Osaka and Tsurenko were both competing for a place in the Grand Slam. However, Tsurenko looked physically drained.

Osaka faced criticism for her celebration in the fourth win.

Thomas Bjork says he felt sick telling players they would be left out of the Ryder Cup.

Thomas Bjork gave four players wildcards in the Ryder cup: Paul Casey, Sergio Garcia, Ian Poulter and Henrik Stenson.

The four got an automatic qualification after a strong season. They will be joining eight players who already qualified for the squad.

However, Rafa Cabrera Bello was left out of the squad. Bjork expressed his remorse by remarking that he felt like crying once he broke the news to him.

It was clear that after finishing in a strong season Rafa expected to be named in Bjork’s team of four.

Bjork requires the skills of players such as Sergio Garcia who are rookies but they are sure to win the European Ryder Cup.

A student, a salesman & an internet star – makeshift Denmark lose 3-0 in Slovakia.

The Denmark football team is involved with a scandal with the Danish Football Association. Therefore the top two divisions team were unavailable and they might end up missing the National League against Wales in Aarhus.

Denmark’s line up featured Christian Offenberg who is a part-time salesman who also plays for the Danish third tier. It also had a student: Simon Vollesen and an internet football freestyler Rasmus Johansson.

Denmark only managed to get 27% possession of the ball.

Jamie Murray reaches third US Open mixed doubles final.

Jamie Murray and his partner Bethanie Mattek Sands beat Christina McHale and Christian Harrison in 6-4 2-6 10-8 victory.

Murray will now have to defend his championship which he won last year. His then partner was Martina Hingis.

Murrays are now in the semifinals and he is excited about the next matches.
