Apostle John wrote to Gaius, “Beloved, I pray that you may prosper in all things and be in health, just as your soul prospers. For I rejoiced greatly when brethren came and testified of the truth that is in you, just as you walk in the truth. I have no greater joy than to hear that my children walk in truth.”
You know, we love to quote 3 John 2 and believe God for prosperity, failing to realize that it was a prayer for someone who was walking in the truth. In other words, enjoying prosperity and health are the rewards of walking in the truth. You can’t be walking in error and expect God to bless you; you can’t also be walking in sin and in deceit and expect to enjoy the blessings of God. Please take note of that.
Your walk determines your blessings! When Abraham was ninety-nine years old, God appeared to him and said to him, “I am Almighty God; walk before Me and be blameless. And I will make My covenant between Me and you, and will multiply you exceedingly.” (Genesis 17:1-2). That right there, is the key to enjoying the blessings of God.
