As the cases of robbery increase daily in Zimbabwe, another three Zimbabwe Army Presidential soldiers have been arrested for robbery.
Shadreck Kadira(33), Munyaradzi Munyuki (27), and Busani Moyo (29) have been arrested by the police in connection with a robbery case in Beatrice which happened on February 28.
According to the police memorandum document seen by iHarare, the three who are understood to be presidential guards stole property which is valued at $2,135-00 and the only recovered property is valued at $722-00.
It is outlined that the gang invaded the farm at around 1930 hrs where they tied the complainant Luke Williams (19) with a shoelace before taking his iPhone XR.
They pointed a pistol demanding cash from Williams; who then directed them to his room where he had $250.
From another complainant, the ex-army soldiers robbed Philliper Rickards off her $850 which was in her purse.
The accused three upon sensing that they had been spotted, they fled the premise before firing five shots in the air using a Trap Gun 12 Bore Browne.
Circumstances leading to their arrest
It is noted that the CID and ZRP police followed a spoor which led them to the three accused who were spotted along Harare-Masvingo road looking for transport.
The police, undercover quickly looked for a vehicle which they used to offer them transport, leading to their arrest.
According to the police, it is said that the three arrested had split into two groups with the other accomplices still at large.
The other accomplices who are still at large are identified as Shumba Murambwi, Junior, and Kedha.
Upon the arrest of the three Zimbabwe presidential guards, a knife and a bracelet taken from the complainant Luke were recovered.
The police also recovered $160-00, $172-00, and $155-00 from the three accused’s pockets.
