Kennedy Iyawe, a 31-year old man has on Friday, July 26, 2019, been sentenced to nine months imprisonment for stealing 40 crates of drinks.
Iyawe was said to have just been released having been sentenced to prison twice for various offences.
He was arraigned on May 31, 2019, on two count charges but pleaded not guilty to the charges.
The convict was said to have collected the drinks worth N78, 000 from one Josephine Ehigie and failed to remit returns.
Patrick Agbonifo, the police prosecutor, called two witnesses but the defendant did not call any witness.
Ivie Akhere, the presiding magistrate, found Iyawe guilty of the two count charges and sentenced him accordingly.
Akhere said Iyawe has not shown any repentance having been to prison twice and slammed nine months imprisonment on him without an option of fine.
