Must read

A 36-year-old man identified as Mr. Augustine Daniel, was discovered dead inside his apartment at Igbalaye street in Akure, the Ondo State capital.

The lifeless remains of Daniel, a suspected ritualist was found on Sunday, August 16, 2015 in his sitting room with a bottle of Seaman Schnapp, a bottle of Jik, a knife and two dead fowls, which suggested that he was possibly carrying out rituals.

According to sources who witnessed the incident, Daniel’s pregnant wife, Folake raised an alarm over his mysterious death around 11 am of the fateful day which attracted the neighbours.

A source said the neighbours forced the door opened and met the deceased on the chair naked and lifeless.

His neighbours disclosed that the deceased who claimed to be an auxiliary nurse, had turned his apartment into a mini hospital where he engaged many girls in abortions.

Daniel also used his house as a shrine and had always threatened his neighbours with charms anytime they confronted him over his illegal activities.

When newsmen tried to to speak with the pregnant widow, members of Daniel’s family obstructed them.

The remains of the deceased have since been deposited at the State Specialist Hospital Akure for further examination.

Confirming the incident, the Police Public Relations Officer, Mr. Wole Ogodo, said the matter had been transferred to the state Criminal Investigation Department for proper investigation.

Ogodo said, “Folake Augustine came to the station to report that she left for church leaving her husband, named Augustin Godwin, 36 years at home. When she returned at about 3.30pm, she discovered that the sitting room was locked. When the door was forcefully unlocked, he (husband) was found dead on the chair, naked.”
