‘The Mosque Was Ungodly’ – Boko Haram Claims Responsibility For UNIMAID Bombing

Abubakar Shekau, the leader of the Islamist terrorist group, Boko Haram has claimed responsibility for Monday’s attack on University of Maiduguri.

The double suicide bombing which claimed the life of a veterinarian professor in the university, Professor Aliyu Mani, was partly carried out by a 7-year-old boy.

Shekau, while taking responsibility for the Monday attack which led to the death of four persons and left several wounded said in a YouTube audio recording released that the mosque was “ungodly”.

Abubakar Shekau further added in the audio message: “The bomb that happened this morning, it’s my people. Don’t deceive people that it’s a mosque, how would you build a mosque and do ungodly things in it.”

The Islamist-Jihadist sect leader further added: “We are not angry with Nigeria. You didn’t kill anyone in Sambisa. We are praying that we don’t change; Koran is our teacher; this is the message we are sending to you. Are you [Buhari] as powerful as God?

“You should know it’s Shekau talking and I’m alive and it’s we that did it, even if King Pharaoh repents, we will not accept it.”

Terror in UNIMAID

Emergency workers, on Monday, January 16, 2017, evacuated body of the professor and others to mortuary after twin suicide bombings at the University of Maiduguri, Borno State in the early morning of Monday, January 16, 2017.

PRNigeria gathered that the incident occurred in a mosque near Gate 1, not the main Central Mosque as previously reported, while the other explosion occurred around Gate 5 of the same university.

The incident occurred during early morning Islamic Prayers, Subhi around 5am.

Rescue and security officials have cordoned the areas while triage and casualty evacuation have been concluded.

Official from National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) and that of Borno State (BOSEMA) confirmed the evacuation of bodies of the Professor, a child and two bombers.

While doctors confirmed the dead of four people including the two bombers, 17 other victims who sustained injuries are being treated by medical personnel.

Boko Haram Defeated – Buhari

Late December 2016, President Muhammadu Buhari declared victory over the Islamist terrorist group after Nigerian troops announced that they have recaptured Camp Zero in Sambisa forest, the base of the deadliest terrorist group in the world.

The Nigerian Army later presented the president with the flag belonging to the terrorist group in a “mission accomplished” ceremony.

Since the declaration a week ahead of Christmas Day 2016, Boko Haram has launched a number of deadly attacks in the North Eastern region of the country where the terrorists have murdered at least 50,000 since they began their campaign to establish an Islamic caliphate in the country.
