UPDATED: Fire Incident In Apartment Building In Festac, Lagos (PHOTO)

Our eye-witness, Ms. Edem called around 5.50pm with an update. She said the fire had been contained and a fire service team attached to the local government council had just arrived the scene of the fire outbreak.

Though the fire had been put off by residents aided by winds, the fire service crew insisting on setting up their equipment. Photos were being taken at the time of her phone call.

“Thank you to The Trent and all the people who helped us,” Edem told our reporter.

There is a fire outbreak in an apartment building in Festac Town Lagos.

Miss Anita Edem, a reader of The Trent called to inform of this distressing incident.

Edem, a resident of the building, she said that they have called the Fire Service and emergency ‘911’ numbers for Lagos State at about 3.15pm when the fire started and as at 4.15pm, one hour later, fire service is yet to appear at the scene of the fire.

The fire is at 401 Road, D Close. It is presently on the 3rd floor of the apartment complex in Festac Town. It began in one flat and has now spread to three flats.

Please call the Lagos State Fire Service, Police and first responders. Tell them about this fire which is spreading.

The cause of the fire remains unknown at the time of going to press.
