General Muhammadu Buhari, has been issued a Certificate of Return by the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC.
General Buhari is officially the President-elect of the Federal Republic of Nigeria after beating incumbent President Goodluck Jonathan in a keenly contested election in March 2015.
The chairman of INEC, Attahiru Jega, handed the certificate to Buhari, and the vice president-elect, Yemi Osinbajo, on Wednesday, April 1, 2015.
Speaking after receiving the certificate, General Buhari said “Change has finally come” to Nigeria.
He said Nigeria’s “long night has passed”.
