The Deputy British High Commissioner to Nigeria, Peter Carter, reportedly slumped yesterday and died at the Murtala Mohammed International Airport Lagos.
Carter arrived the country around 4pm aboard a Delta Airlines flight, according to a source. He took ill while aboard the flight which came in from Atlanta, Georgia, USA.
Eyewitnesses say the diplomat held his hands to his chest and screamed as he slumped. Medical personnel at the airport terminal tried to revive him but failed.
The British High Commission in Nigeria is yet to issue a statement on this sad incident.
