CBN Releases List of Financial Institutions Exempt From Lockdown In Lagos, Ogun, and FCT

Further to the federal government directive to carry out a two-week lockdown in Lagos, Ogun and the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja to check the spread of COVID-19 pandemic, the Central Bank of Nigeria, CBN, has released the list of financial institutions that have been granted an exemption from the two weeks lockdown in Lagos, Ogun and the FCT.

The organisations are:

  1. The Central Bank of Nigeria, CBN.
  2. Deposit Money Banks, DMBs.
  3. The Nigeria Interbank Settlement System. NIBSS, Plc.
  4. Switching companies.
  5. Mobile money operators.
  6. Payment solution service providers.

 

Consequently, these organisations are meant to operate during the lockdown and therefore key staff are required to work through the period.

Consequently, relevant security agencies have been requested to grant passage to the critical staff of these institutions to enable essential and strategic financial transactions to go undisrupted during the period of the lockdown.
