Confusion has been the order of the day in the University of Ilorin, Kwara State, following the strange disappearance of its 200 level student of  the department of Science Education, Onikenku Michael Atunde, after he went to swim.

Atunde, a member of Man O war, reportedly went to swim on Saturday, October 24, 2015 and has been nowhere to be found ever since.

Members of the state Fire Service and National Emergency Management Agency were deployed for a search and rescue operation but all efforts have proved abortive yet.

The school’s spokesperson, Kunle Akogun in a statement made available to Vanguard on the development said: “A member of the man’o war club was reported to have been calling for assistance in the river flowing behind the Parks and Garden Unit early Saturday.

“Rescue efforts coordinated by the Deputy Vice Chancellor, Academics, Prof Nike Ijaya was immediately mounted, search still ongoing. Medical services have been on since yesterday.”

“It is feared that the student might have been drowned at the university’s dam site.‎”
