The women of Columbia’s cycling delegation are causing quite a stir with their uniforms unveiled at the recent games in Italy.
The cut-out jump suits have a nude patch which, er, makes the women appear naked.
The race was held in honour of former Italian champion Michela Fanini, whose promising career was cut short when she died in a car crash aged 21 in 1994, and some are displeased with the fact that this distracting uniform is taking the shine off the memory of Fanini.
The Columbian team is sponsored by the city government of Bogota.
Brian Cookson, president of the International Cycling Union (UCI), weighed in on the (in)famous sports wear. “It is unacceptable by any standard of decency,” he said on Twitter.
To the many who have raised the issue of a certain women's team kit, we are on the case. It is unacceptable by any standard of decency.

It seems the Columbian women's cycling teams outfits had more column inches than the actual race. #Womenscycling #nottakenseriously
