#EdoDecides2020: Obaseki Re-Elected As Edo Governor

Governor of Edo State, Mr. Godswill Obaseki has been re-elected for his second term in office.

The Independent National electoral Commission, INEC, has announced results from all the local government areas of the state and Obaseki, candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, beat his main rival, Pastor Osagie Ize-Iyamu of the All Progressives Congress, APC.

The final results of the governorship election held on Saturday, September 19, 2020 is as follows: Accredited Voters – 557,443; APC- 223,619; PDP – 300,955.

Obaseki beat Ize-Iyamu with 13,445 votes to 10,458 in Orhionmwon, Ize-Iyamu’s home LGA, whose collation officer previously went missing but later reappeared to announce the results.

INEC is expected to soon officially declare a winner.
