Explosion Rocks Golden Penny Flour Mills Lagos, Kills Staff

The life of a member of staff of Golden Penny Flour Mills has been cut short following an explosion that rocked the company on Monday, July 27, 2015 at the Iganmu office in Lagos State.

The said explosion was said to have emerged from a boiler at the production section of the company killing the victim, Folorunso Odunayo, who worked at the engine room.

It was learnt that Odunayo died on the spot after the hot water from the exploded boiler spilled on him.

His remains was evacuated from the scene by men of the Lagos State Fire Service, Iganmu branch after they were called.

The Secretary/Director of the company, Alhaji Olalekan Saliu, claimed he was not in town as at the time of incident.

The Learning Administrator, Mrs. Nike Adekoya-Saani, confirmed the incident, adding that she had yet to get the details according to Punch.

“It happened at our Iganmu branch office. I was just informed this evening. I don’t have the full details,” she said.

The Director of the fire service, Mr. Rasaq Fadipe, said, “We received a call that there was an explosion at the Golden Penny Flour Mills at Eric More, Iganmu. It claimed the life of a man working inside then engine room. We handed the corpse to the police.”
