Reports went viral on Friday, November 28, 2014, that Afrojuju singer Femi Kuti had revealed that a DNA test and found out two of his five kids were not his, prompting him to return the kids to their biological father.
According to the story, which has been traced to a 2006 interview that Femi Kuti, son of Legendary Fela Kuti granted Encomium Magazine, Kuti said, “I did a DNA test and was told two of the children are not mine. The first two (after Made), a boy and a girl. It is very serious. I never knew somebody could give you what is not yours. I’ve three boys now. I can’t father children I was tricked to believe I am their father.”
In reaction to the claims, however, he had to Twitter on Saturday, November 29, 2014, to express his displeasure at a rehash of the 8 year old interview and said it was an old story that happened about 5 years ago adding that he never granted any interview with the acclaimed Enconium magazine on the issue.
He lashed out at some bloggers alleging that ”lack of news” was responsible for the report which he considered a dead issue which his family had since moved on from.
The Afrobeat legend in his own right, disclosed in his tweets that he was living peacefully with his children and that his close friends know he loves them so much.
Meanwhile, he shared a picture of his two sons and tagged it “two of my sons that were put, standing by me right now.”
