A former Nigeria Minister of Education, Dr. Olaiya Oni has died after a lost battle to an undisclosed sickness which left hm bedridden for some months.
Sources from his family disclosed to newsmen that Oni died on Sunday, October 18, 2015 at the Federal Medical Centre, FMC, in Owo, Ondo State.
He was aged 72.
Oni was a one-time chairperson of the Labour Party (LP) in Ondo State, and also a chieftain of the defunct Action Congress of Nigeria (ACN)
While his body was deposited at the hospital’s morgue, arrangements for his burial ceremony have taken a full force.
