The frozen bodies of four new born babies were discovered in two freezers at a house in Mthatha, in Eastern Cape province, South African police said on Sunday, February 8, 2015.
A police spokesperson, Mzukisi Fatyela told AFP that the discovery was made following an intelligence report which led them to search the house on Saturday, February 7, 2015.
Fatyela said the babies who were approximately between one and two months old were discovered in two freezers.
Investigation into the matter has taken a full force as the police are currently on the trail to capture the owner of the house, said to be a woman who was away in Johannesburg as at the time of the grim discovery.
The recovered corpses have been sent for an autopsy in an undisclosed hospital in the area.
