Boss Mustapha, the chairman of the Presidential Taskforce on COVID19 and Secretary to the Government of the Federation SGF, says he is worried and sees danger ahead as the ease of the lockdown entered day three on Wednesday, May 6, 2020.

At the press briefing of the taskforce in Abuja on Wednesday, May 6, 2020, Mustapha says the outright disregard for all COVID19 prevention guidelines only potent danger for Nigerians even as the battle against COVID19 continues. In his words.

“Today I am a little bit sober because of the dangers that I see ahead and I referred to it in my speech,” Mr. Mustapha said.

“I said an early assessment of the ease of lockdown phase, indicates that Nigerians are yet to come to terms with the deadliness and the virulent nature of COVID-19 and this gives us concern on the high possibility of increased shedding of the virus to hitherto unaffected persons and populations.

“I went ahead to mention some of the worries. One of them is a total disregard for the protocols that the government has issued which includes social distancing, wearing of a mask, personal hygiene, ban on interstate travels. We have just thrown them to the wind.

“I concluded with a very subtle reminder that the overall assessment of compliance with the measures and the outcome of models we have developed point in the direction of danger ahead.” he said.

He added that the only way the danger ahead can be averted is for everyone to have personal discipline, increased awareness, and enforcement.

The one-month lockdown by President Buhari was eased off on Monday, May 4, 2020, and was largely characterized by an outright disregard for all COVID19 prevention guidelines.

  1. Yes, there’s danger ahead. Question is, how do “we” avert this danger? Our government has just told us she can’t feed us at home and I dare ask why not. The obvious suspension was for us to refill our food stocks and brace for impact. Boss, you already knew the madness you elites made of us and you speak as if you didn’t expect it. Anyway, what you saw was “catch Corona virus or die of hunger”. Which would you choose sir? If you can’t today, you or yours will someday.

  2. God ho purposefully allow covid19 to come is to reveals the danger of looting and mismanagement of economy of any nation God has blessed with abundant resources like Nigeria, also it comes to teach us danger of allowing a system whereby many will be poor and few will be rich.if we have had a system that has enabled massive employment at least 70 percent each working citizen being sure of at least one million yearly in his or her reserved then when you ask people to lock down to avoid this death they will listen to you.they are many who prefer to die in their hussling field than to die inside house, why should there be few who are controlling billions in their accounts and majority are scrambling for daily bread,covid19 is an act of God for a lesson if we can learn,no one can deceive Him.
