JUST IN: Senator Committee Revealed Amaechi May Be Screened Tuesday

Must read

After all the controversies surrounding the case of Rotimi Amaechi screening, it has been provided that the procedure may be finally carried out on Tuesday, October 20.

Senator Sam Anyanwu, the chairman of the Senate Committee on Ethics, Privileges and Public Petitions, gave an update after the Monday meeting in Abuja, Vanguard reports.

Anyanwu also disclosed that the body would submit its report on the petition against Amaechi’s nomination on Tuesday.

“We have heard Amaechi’s petition and all these reports will be ready tomorrow. Except there are further petitions, the reports on all the petitions so far received, will be submitted tomorrow.

“For now, what we have is that of Aisha Abubakar and that of Rotimi Amaechi, which will be submitted to the Senate tomorrow.”

Meanwhile, Amaechi has dismissed the circulating reports that he on Thursday stormed in anger the residence of Senate president Bukola Saraki over the Senate failure to carry out his screening (as previously scheduled).

Amaechi’s representative characterized the article as a deliberate attempt to tarnish the reputation of the ministerial nominee.
