Man Docked For Killing His Father In Lagos (PHOTO)

35-year-old Nelson Oamen, the man who killed his 75-year-old father, Sunday Ehiremen Oamen and reportedly ran away with his heart was on Tuesday, October 6, 2015 arraigned  before an Ebute-Meta Chief Magistrate’s Court sitting at Oyingbo, Lagos State.

The Trent had reported that the defendant, allegedly stabbed his father in the chest and stomach with a broken bottle on Friday, September 18, 2015, while he was asleep in their Abesan Estate residence at Ipaja area of same state.

The police charged Oamen on a count charge of murder and according to the prosecutors, the offence is punishable under Section 221 of the criminal laws of Lagos State of Nigeria, 2011.

The prosecutor, Assistant Superintendent of Police, ASP Adegoke Akinlabi, urged Magistrate Folashade Botoku to remand the defendant in prison custody, pending the time he would be properly arraigned before a court of competent jurisdiction.

Adegoke informed the court that the application was in pursuant of Section 264(1)(2) of the Administration of Criminal Justice of Lagos State, 2011.

Magistrate Botoku ordered that the defendant be remanded in prison custody for the first 30 days, and his case file forwarded to the Director of Public Prosecution, DPP, for legal advice.

Botoku further adjourned the case until Thursday, November 5, 2015 pending on the DPP’s advice.
