Valentine Ozigbo, the Special Adviser to the Labour Party Presidential Candidate, Mr Peter Obi, on Tech and Strategic Alliances, has issued a statement in appreciation and honour of mothers on Mothering Sunday.
Mr Ozigbo, who is also an award-winning global CEO and a 2021 Anambra Governorship Candidate, took a moment to recognise and appreciate the immense contribution of mothers to our society.
In his statement issued on Sunday, March 26, 2023, Ozigbo acknowledged that mothers are the backbone of our families, communities, and nation, and their unwavering love, dedication, and strength are the foundation of our success.
He further noted that without mothers, our world would be a much poorer place, and it is through their selflessness and boundless compassion that we learn the values of empathy, kindness, and generosity.
“Today, as we celebrate Mothering Sunday, I want to take a moment to recognise and appreciate all the mothers in our lives,” Ozigbo, the immediate past President and Group CEO of Transcorp Plc, said.
“Mothers are the backbone of our families, communities, and our dear nation. Their unwavering love, dedication, and strength are the foundation of our success and the bedrock of our society.
“Without mothers, our world would be a much poorer place. Through their selflessness and boundless compassion, we learn the values of empathy, kindness, and generosity,” he added.
Ozigbo urged everyone to strive to create a society where every mother is valued, respected, and appreciated for their immense contributions.
“On this special day, let us honour and celebrate our mothers’ incredible impact on our lives. Let us recognise their tireless efforts and the countless sacrifices they make for the well-being of their families,” Ozigbo continued.
“To all our mothers, I say a special thank you for teaching us the importance of family, community, and service. We are grateful for your glowing example of love, resilience, and courage.
“As we commemorate Mothering Sunday, let us also pledge to support and uplift all the mothers in our society. Let us strive to create a society where every mother is valued, respected, and appreciated for their immense contributions.
“May we all have a joyous and meaningful Mothering Sunday filled with love, gratitude, and appreciation,” Ozigbo concluded.
Valentine Ozigbo is a prominent figure in Nigeria, with a successful career across multiple fields. He has worked as a CEO and business leader, including serving as the President and Group CEO of Transcorp Plc. Ozigbo is also known for his work as an international sports developer and peacebuilder.
In 2021, Ozigbo contested for the governorship of Anambra State, making history as the candidate who came second in the election, behind Professor Chukwuma Soludo of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) who was contesting for the 4th time. Despite not winning the election, Ozigbo’s impressive showing demonstrated his popularity and appeal as a political figure in Nigeria.
