No Ransom Was Paid For Jonathan’s Cousins – Police

Must read

The Bayelsa State Police Command has refuted claims that N15million was paid as ransom to secure the release of the two abducted cousins of the former President, Dr. Goodluck Jonathan, from the den of kidnappers.

The two cousins by name; Kate Ene and Patience Ebani, were kidnapped on May 15 alongside their friend, Edith Ekeni along the Akemplai community in Ogbia Local Government Area of the state.

The spokesman of the Bayelsa state police command, Astimin Butswat, insisted that “we are not aware of such payment.”

He however said the abducted cousins to the former president and their friend were released at about 11.30p.m. on June 5 at Abua waterfront in Abua Local Government Area of Rivers State.
