Ace photographer, Michael Stokes is renowned for his specialty of taking shots of totally naked men.
Stokes recently added a feather to his career cap after he captured about 14 injured and amputee soldiers just in their birthday suits as usual.
The shots featured wounded United States army, navy and marine veterans of the Gulf Wars, and has been described as ‘bold, striking and incredibly sexy’.
The shots according to MTV, are meant for Kickstarter campaign (which saw Stokes reach his $48,000 target in just one hour), these images are to form a book called ‘Always Loyal’.
On his Kickstarter page, Stokes wrote, “Each veteran will have a bio page and details related to his or her injuries.
“The vast majority of these veterans have lost one or multiple limbs from IED attacks.’
According to him, there are two covers for the book; The main cover and a ‘controversial’ alternate cover which depicts a Christ-like image of a veteran hanging from ropes.
He said, “Some people will say to me “Oh, this is really helpful to their self-esteem,” or, “You’re making them feel like men again,”
“The response I have to that is that these guys have come to me very healed and ready to take the world on. I’m not giving them back their confidence. They already have it.”
Below are some of the NSFW shots. (Click on any image to enlarge).
