Governor of Ekiti State, Ayo Fayose has declared that the reported endorsement of the All Progressives Congress (APC) presidential candidate, General Muhammadu Buhari by former President Olusegun Obasanjo was a political liability.

He made the assertion via a press statement signed by his Chief Press Secretary, Idowu Adelusi on Wednesday, February 11, 2015.

While describing the said endorsement as a political somersault, Governor Fayose urged Nigeria to take the endorsement with a pinch of salt as Obasanjo has proven to be a weakling in his domain as he had been defeated consecutively by the opposition party before and after his tenure as president in Ogun State,

He further said the endorsement shows that Obasanjo had lost wisdom, adding that anyone who heeds his call will be doing so at his own peril as Obasanjo had lost touch with modernity and should not be trusted.

He said, “Leaving President Jonathan and vote for Buhari is like to abandon the road and enter the bush. God forbid we enter the forest which we may not come out from for years. How can you follow somebody who because of old age is senile, but being propelled by his followers to fly the plane at all cost. Won’t that plane crash?”
